Food Point is a food wholesaler which has been around for almost forever. It was in business almost 30 years before husband and wife duo Michelle and Brett Hammond took it over in 2007. The company has a strong history as a family business, with a legacy dating back to 1987 when it first began as L&K Food Distributors, named after its founding owners. Very early on in the game, Michelle and Brett rebranded and renamed the business to Food Point, and they also added a wholesale retail outlet. The business was in Adamstown for 11 years until they outgrew the premises, then in 2019, they moved and since have grown into a larger home in Gateshead.
Their vision is to provide quality products to everyone, not only their commercial consumers but the larger community too.
Their new premises meant they could offer a larger retail outlet, open to the public. You can experience their friendly customer service, sourcing the best products at the best price by shopping directly from the warehouse. Food Point sells everything from dry goods to frozen goods to chiller goods and even packaging. You’ll also find smallgoods in their outlet – like fresh chicken, alongside all your tinned goods like flours, olives, rice, seasonings, gravy. “We basically sell everything!” – laughs owner, Michelle.

Food Point provides produce to all sorts of different businesses, from takeaways, cafes, pubs, clubs and restaurants. By buying in bulk at wholesale prices, Food Point can offer good quality products at good prices to the community.
